Rather, they sent out tapes as a throwback to precisely the movies it would sit with on video store shelves - complete with a logo from iconic '80s distributor Gorgon Video - in the process creating what I'd argue is one of the most gloriously authentic pieces of swag in the history of home video promotion. In fact, this tape literally puts the video back into home video.
[Cinematical] Duckie Turns 44: Happy Birthday, Jon Cryer - Cinematical: Playing a 30-ish stock broker who hides from the mob by pretending to be a high-school student, Cryer somehow pulled off the silly premise, and even managed to make a budding romance with a high-school age girl (Annabeth Gish) more charming than creepy. In this clip, check out the hair on waitress Joy Behar:

[Cinematical] Review: Diminished Capacity - Cinematical: Late in the film, when other characters begin saying they want the "old Cooper" back, it's easy to think they're meaning the old Broderick, as in the cool Broderick who played Ferris. Seeing as how we're introduced to Cooper some time after his transition to the "new Cooper" (and by "new", I mean both post-concussion and post-migration from rural Missouri, where the character grew up, to Chicago), it's not unfair to imagine that the "old Cooper" was the kind of guy who broke the fourth wall, would spontaneously perform on a parade float and generally was a more confident, clever and popular dude.

[Cinematical] Discuss: Is Judd Apatow This Generation's John Hughes? - Cinematical: I have never laughed at anything Seth Rogen has ever said except his objection to a possible Ghostbusters 3 (and that was more ironic funny, not ha-ha). It's a shame that Kevin Smith felt the need to dumb himself down further just to try and compete with Apatow's box-office numbers.

[Roger Ebert's Journal] "Caché:" A riddle, wrapped in a <br>mystery, inside an enigma ...: It seems a more interesting interpretation that, having shown us the actual ending of the film, Haneke gives us TWO flashbacks to the pivotal moments that brought Georges to that place - firstly, the removal of Majid decades earlier, and then the moment where Walid and Pierrot decide to make and send the videotapes. But while we have the dialogue in Majid's removal to make it clear what we are seeing, we just don't have the dialogue to absolutely confirm what the significance of the Walid/Majid scene is.
