Celebrities Watch > Orlando Bloom Would Be Willing To Return As Legolas In 'The Hobbit ...
[MTV Movies Blog] It's not particularly likely that Bloom's services would be required for "The Hobbit" as Legolas has no role in the original story, though it's always possible that the actor could play Thranduil, Legolas' father who appears as the Elvenking in the story. But even if Bloom doesn't return to Middle-Earth, he's more than happy to see what Jackson and Del Toro have in store.

[Hobbit Movie News and Rumors | TheOneRing.netâ] Why Orlando Bloom should be in 'The Hobbit' | Hobbit Movie News ...: I don’t know that Bloom would agree to a part with no dialog but if he would it would be a classic nod to his non-mention in the books while providing a line of continuity from del Toro’s films to Jackson’s. It wouldn’t require a large time commitment either and would likely delight studios and financiers.

[MTV Movies Blog] Doug Jones Eyes Elven King Role For 'The Hobbit' » MTV Movies Blog: Okay, I admit it, I thought Orlando Bloom was very hansome pretty to look at as Legolas and I couldn't take my eyes off him whenever he was onscreen with those quick graceful movements, yada, yada, yada. I would imagine King Thranduil his father to have that same sort of hansome pretty, but also hopefully more fierce, look (my preference).
[redblog] redblog: "They Stole It From Us, Sneaky Little Hobbitses, Wicked ...: Also, in the interview, del Toro mentioned what many fans have suspected: that we will get to see more of what's going on off-stage during The Hobbit as well, including when Gandalf leaves Bilbo and the Dwarves so that he, Saruman, Elrond and the rest of the White Council can confront the Necromancer at Dol Guldur and drive him away. Said Necromancer would turn out to be Sauron, regathering his strength and power and returning in LOTR.

[The Daily Kraken] Filming 'The Hobbit' « The Daily Kraken: because I can guarantee that it will be. People will flock to it. It will do very well, and will probably receive great and deserved critical acclaim. It is nevertheless the case, though, that the sort of differences between The Hobbit and LOTR that will exist in a faithful adaptation will leave many scratching their heads. The biggest one I can see, as I noted above, is the problem of the One Ring and what it does and is. Having seen the Jackson films before I ever read The Hobbit, I found myself quite disappointedly waiting for the ring to do something monstrous, or be described with some ominous significance, but there was nothing about it at all in this regard. How are they going to deal with this when filming? It seems like they’re making every effort to include this in the world as created for the Jackson films, what with his own involvement and the attempts to secure the same cast, so it would be hard for them to just say that it’s another adaptation that need not pay any heed to the other films. I look forward to seeing how they deal with this.
