Cinematical: I have no doubt Marvel would hit up a new director if Raimi should quit -- or cast a new Peter Parker if Maguire moves on -- but we all know the dangers of a revolving door of directors, and losing the talent of Raimi would be a big blow. Not necessarily a death blow, because franchises like Harry Potter have passed through many a director, but I think we can all agree that Spider-Man is far better off with Sam Raimi than without him.  [Sonypictures.com] Spider-Man 3 Official Movie Blog: Grant Curtis responds to your ...:  I just have a quick question that I think a lot of people are wondering about (and I hope it hasn't been asked already)I am a HUGE fan of Sam Raimi's work, I've seen everything he's done (I even got to ask a bunch of questions about him to his teacher from college, Bill Vincent, who I did some work with on a student film) and he has a distinct visual style. I didn't notice it so much in the first Spider-man movie, but during the Doc Ock surgery scene in Spider-Man 2 the camera zooms and the tentacle action are very 'Sam Raimi/Evil Dead' and I like it.
